Egypt Mining Conference.. Golden Opportunities
The Egypt Mining Conference will be held tomorrow، Tuesday، at a time when the Egyptian government is renewing its commitment to transforming the mining sector into a fundamental pillar for economic growth.
This event is sponsored by Minister Karim Badawi، the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources، and features a host of ministers and senior government officials.
The conference، which will host more than 4،000 participants from 34 countries، represents a significant state endorsement of this promising sector، led by President Sisi.
Minister Karim Badawi has emphasized the strong intent to transform the Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority into an independent economic body that effectively contributes to attracting investments and focuses on the development and manufacturing of mineral wealth to produce added value that contributes to Egypt’s national output.
This step is part of a broader plan to modernize and deregulate the sector، which will enhance transparency and facilitate the investment process.
The main goals of these transformations are to enhance the optimal exploitation of Egypt's rich mining resources، including gold، phosphate، iron، and copper، as well as rare minerals and gemstones.
The new authority for mineral resources aims to implement best global practices in the exploration and extraction of these resources، ensuring their sustainability and achieving the highest possible economic return.
In addition to boosting investment، Minister Badawi focuses on the role of manufacturing and adding local value as fundamental elements of the development strategy.
This approach not only helps maximize the benefits of natural resources but also contributes to creating new job opportunities and developing the technical and administrative skills of workers in this sector.
The minister also emphasizes the importance of partnering with the private sector، considering it a crucial pillar for the success of mining development plans.
By encouraging private sector participation and investment in mining، the government hopes to accelerate development in this sector and attract modern technologies and global expertise that can improve the efficiency of mining and administrative operations.
The current edition of the conference will feature a series of specialized discussion sessions، including a roster of international and local speakers such as Dr. Yasmin Fouad، Minister of Environment، and Dr. Ahmed Kojak، Minister of Finance.
The sessions will also feature leaders in the mining industry and officials from international financing institutions such as Dr. Heike Harmgart، Managing Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean region، and Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh، Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The Egyptian government's commitment to modernizing and expanding the mining sector، focusing on achieving sustainability and efficiency in resource exploitation، paves the way for a promising future where Egypt becomes a leading mining hub on the global stage.
